This year I was filled with thankfulness. I felt so thankful, hopeful and blessed. I was driving to the grocery store to run a few last minute errands before Thanksgiving Day and I saw this beautiful sunset. Deep calls to deep! God loves us from the depths of His heart! I am so thankful for Him! And for His great love for us!
Today, my daughter Sarah and I volunteered for Canopy Date Night through National Charity League to help set up a special dinner for cancer survivors. We both believe that each day of life is a gift meant to be cherished and celebrated, especially when you are going through difficult times. We had great joy transforming a contemporary meeting space into a romantic dinner venue with pink tule cloth, a burlap runner, candles, paper lanterns, and greenery. Private chefs from HEB catered the event. The delicious aromas filled the kitchen. We left before the guests arrived, feeling like we had played a small but magical role in helping to bring about their enchanted evening.
Canopy Date Night gives cancer survivors an opportunity to enjoy a memorable and rejuvenating date night surrounded by the company of others who are walking this journey also.

My daughter Sarah Seymour and I hiked in the Pacific Northwest this summer. We hiked and camped in Olympic National Park. This picture is taken at Salmon Cascades in the Sol Duc Valley. The verdant forests glowed bright green. The rivers and waterfalls were clear and beautiful. We greatly enjoyed our time there!
As we hiked, Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that The Lord is good. Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him,” came to mind. Spending tranquil and rejuvenating time in the beauty of His creation allows us to taste, see and feel that The Lord is good. His goodness surrounded us in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
I would love to hear about special and sacred moments in your life when you have tasted and seen that The Lord is good. Write me here! I look forward to hearing from you!
We are made to love and be loved. We are made for deeper love. We are also called to love deeply, from the heart. May you know deeper love – the deeper love of Jesus Christ. He died on the cross to save us from our sin and was raised to new life on the third day. In Him, we are loved, forgiven, and cherished. In Him, we can walk in peace, love and joy! This is the fruit of His deeper love in our lives!
You are loved! You are dearly loved and precious! There is only one you. God made you to love and cherish you. He loves you with an everlasting love. He desires that you love yourself as He loves you – kindly and tenderly. He desires all that is good for you. His heart is for you! You are loved! Celebrate His beautiful love today!
Shine bright! There is only one you. You were made for peace, joy and love! Shine bright!
Life is full of challenges. When we shine bright, the light outshines the darkness. Shine bright, Beautiful One! Today and always!
Women are valuable.
International Women’s Day celebrates women around the world. Love them. Cherish them. Appreciate them.
What would the world be like without women? Women care for and nurture their loved ones and homes. They work to provide a better life for their children. They live and love from their hearts.
Women are valuable. Let us celebrate and appreciate the value and contribution of women in our world! Not just today, but every day!
